Meta turns off the Instagram feature that let users make AI deepfakes of public accounts

Meta is disabling an Instagram feature that allowed users to generate AI images by tagging public accounts. The tool previously enabled image synthesis using content from any public profile without owner consent, leading to privacy and deepfake concerns. Users can no longer trigger AI generation via public account tags.
