Google's SynthID watermark is hard to break, but it doesn't solve AI disinformation

SynthID embeds imperceptible digital watermarks into AI-generated media to ensure traceability. While the technology resists common manipulation attacks, it cannot prevent the systemic spread of disinformation or verify the provenance of non-watermarked content.
