Analysis of 2,760 Common Voice clips shows Whisper achieves a 4.67% word error rate for speakers in their seventies, compared to 6.53% for those in their twenties. However, fixed silence thresholds cause older speakers to be interrupted up to 2.5 times more often than younger users.
