Probabilistic Weather Forecasting via Uncertainty-Aware End-to-End AI

The Aardvark Weather model incorporates stochastic mechanisms into an end-to-end forecasting pipeline to provide probabilistic predictions. It uses learned input-dependent noise in the observation encoder for aleatoric uncertainty and Monte Carlo dropout in the processor for epistemic uncertainty.
