QuadTok: Quadtree Visual Tokenizer for Autoregressive Image Generation

QuadTok uses a hierarchical quadtree structure to dynamically allocate tokens to complex image regions while using fewer tokens for homogeneous areas. ImageNet-trained experiments show a 10% reduction in token count compared to fixed 256-token grids, maintaining reconstruction fidelity while enabling autoregressive generation via the tree's natural causality.
