Open-Weight Wolof Language Models Scaling from 0.6B to 14B

New Wolof-adapted models ranging from 0.6B to 14B parameters use instruction tuning and model merging to achieve competitive performance against commercial APIs. These open-weight models provide a sovereignty-preserving alternative for 23 million speakers while maintaining cross-lingual capabilities.
