Encoder Adaptation Doubles CLIP Accuracy for Regional Geolocalization Tasks

Fine-tuning CLIP encoders for regional geolocalization increases accuracy from 39.03% zero-shot to over 82% via LoRA or full fine-tuning. Adaptation also reduces the mean error from 12.30 km to 3.86 km when predicting region centers from street-view imagery.
