AI Performance Comparison Against Traditional Scientific Methods

An analysis of 2,507 head-to-head comparisons shows AI outperforms traditional statistics in many scientific disciplines but at higher computational costs. While AI's performance relative to scientific computing has improved since 2020, AI still performs worse and more expensively than traditional methods in nearly 25 percent of studied cases.
