TabRank: Chain-of-Thought Distillation for Table Re-Rankers

TabRank introduces a framework for training compact reasoning rerankers for tabular retrieval via chain-of-thought distillation. The method utilizes a new dataset of 6,728 reasoning traces derived from Natural Questions Tables to enable structured information retrieval through explicit reasoning steps.
