Accepting-Path Decoding Improves Semantic Parsing Under Length Constraints
October 12, 2026
Accepting-path decoding (APD) uses structural automata to ensure neural semantic parsers generate valid, completable sequences within fixed length limits. APD improves Smatch++ by up to 6.4 points on AMR and 5.1 points on DRS compared to local masking without requiring expensive token rollback.
HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU
●
builderYou can improve parser reliability in production environments where output length is strictly limited.
●
researcherYou can use structural automata to guarantee valid output generation in constrained decoding scenarios.
