LLMs Struggle to Reverse News Framing While Preserving Facts

Evaluations of Qwen, DeepSeek, and Kimi across 540 news variants show that while factual preservation stays near 0.84, intervention reversal for framing—such as agency or salience—drops to 0.044–0.068. The results indicate a functional gap between recognizing a frame and successfully inverting it.
