No Free Checker: A Survey of Verifiers for Robot Policies

This survey categorizes 150 robot policy verifiers across human, rule-based, learned, and model-intrinsic families. The analysis identifies an inverse relationship between availability—defined by cost, latency, and density of verdicts—and credibility, which measures a verifier's resistance to being gameable or self-serving during policy training.
