CAST Framework Suppresses Clinical Note Artifacts via SAEs

The Concept-guided Artifact Suppression Tuning (CAST) framework uses Sparse Autoencoders to identify and subtract latents representing non-clinical boilerplate in medical text. This approach improves mortality prediction robustness on MIMIC-IV by preventing models from exploiting note-specific templates.
