Local Synaptic Rules Implement SIGReg Gradients Without Backpropagation

Combining spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP+) and homeostatic plasticity allows for implementing SIGReg-like self-supervised gradients without global error signals or weight transport. On synthetic clustering tasks, ordered temporal inputs increased cluster separation from 0.83 to 2.49.
