CarSpeedNet: Vehicle Speed Estimation Using Accelerometer-Only Data

CarSpeedNet estimates vehicle speed using only three-axis smartphone accelerometer data, omitting gyroscope or GPS inputs. Using a 4-second window, the model achieved a root-mean-square error of 1.8 m/s and a mean absolute error of 0.72 m/s on a 0.5-hour holdout dataset.
