LSR-Anchoring Recovers Safety for Low-Resource African Languages

LSR-Anchoring is a training-free method that recovers refusal mechanisms in low-resource languages by clamping English refusal directions onto the residual stream at inference time. Testing on Llama-3, Mistral, and Qwen shows safety recovery with benign degradation below 0.08 on Mistral and Qwen, though Llama-3-8B exhibited overcorrection.
