Interoceptive Attention Doubles Survival in Foraging Agents via Precision Allocation
August 6, 2026
A foraging agent using active inference achieved a survival rate of 0.414 compared to 0.199 for uniform-precision agents. This is achieved by dynamically reallocating a fixed perceptual budget toward the most urgent bodily needs, modeled as interoceptive precision.
