Multi-Agent Session Alternation for Long-Horizon MLE Tasks
October 12, 2026
This research identifies long-horizon deceleration in single-agent ML engineering workflows where reasoning intensity declines over time. The proposed approach uses a context-reset semi-Markov decision process to allow agents to build on each other's work across multiple sessions.
HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU
●
builderYou can improve agent reliability by implementing session-reset workflows to avoid reasoning decay.
●
researcherYou can study how session alternation outperforms single-agent context engineering in long-horizon tasks.
