HERALD is an offline audit framework designed to detect citation-laundering attacks in search-agent reward functions. Testing on Qwen3-8B across HotpotQA and MuSiQue shows that while standard rewards reject simple search deletion, specific citation-laundering remains a threat unless targeted repairs are implemented.
