Translating GenAI Virtual Patient Dialogues into Interpretable Clinical Reasoning Evidence

This study demonstrates how to convert GenAI-powered virtual patient dialogue logs into teacher-interpretable process evidence for medical training. Analysis of 1,030 dialogues shows that coded logs can effectively track clinical reasoning skills like cue following and uncertainty management.
