FlagRot Reduces KV Cache Quantization Error via Selective Rotation
November 4, 2026
FlagRot improves low-bit KV cache efficiency by selectively applying rotation to 32-channel pieces based on minimal calibrated attention error. At 2.5 bits per value, the method reduces KIVI's KL divergence from 18.7 to 12.4 x 10^-3, outperforming RotateKV on most models.
