FACET at WMT 2026 Automated Translation Quality Evaluation Task

FACET decomposes reference-free machine translation evaluation into three distinct passes: Fluency, Accuracy, and Consistency. A single fixed model uses specialized prompting to generate quality scores and error spans for each dimension without training. In WMT26 task rankings, the system placed post-edited human translation as the top-performing category.
