Defining Empty Commitments in Autonomous Agent Runtime Architectures

This framework identifies 'empty commitments' where agents promise future actions, such as reminders, that their current toolsets and runtimes cannot execute. The study establishes a taxonomy of these failures to help engineers design agents with appropriate persistence affordances.
