Multi-Agent Collaboration Fails to Reduce Clinical Hallucinations
October 21, 2026
Evaluating four systems across three clinical tasks shows that multi-agent topologies increase task performance but do not reliably lower hallucination rates. Findings indicate that collaboration does not improve the factuality or faithfulness of the generated reasoning compared to single-LLM baselines.
HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU
●
builderDo not assume multi-agent workflows automatically solve hallucination problems in agentic clinical tools.
●
researcherYour multi-agent architectures may improve accuracy without actually addressing the underlying reasoning errors.
