Tool Results Increase LLM Adoption of False Claims Over Text

A study using Claude Opus 5 found that models are significantly more likely to adopt unsupported false claims when presented as tool results rather than plain text. In one arm, false-code adoption rose to 14/24 when presented via a tool-result record compared to 0/22 for assistant assertions.
