LLM Decision-Making Diverges From Human Cognitive Mechanisms

Evaluation of 12 models on a 140,000-trial benchmark shows that LLMs do not reliably reweight attention between features like price and quality despite human-like context sensitivity. Neither increased model scale nor chain-of-thought reasoning successfully aligns LLM decision mechanisms with human cognitive economic theory.
