MEDIATOR Tokenizer Enables Ontology-Agnostic EHR Modeling

MEDIATOR uses a discrete vector-quantized codebook to map diverse clinical text, synonyms, and ontology codes into a shared space. This approach overcomes the tokenization bottleneck that limits standard models, which currently use only 13% of eICU events when trained on MIMIC-III.
