Uncertainty-Aware ViT for Glaucoma Detection Across Diverse Populations

A ViT-B/16 model with uncertainty estimation achieved 98.7% internal AUROC for glaucoma detection using 56,483 fundus photographs. The model maintained high performance across 16 external datasets in eight countries, even in populations with high myopia.
