DeFT-RAG uses incremental sub-question decomposition for multi-hop QA
October 30, 2026
DeFT-RAG is a new framework that addresses multi-hop RAG failures by generating one self-contained sub-question at a time. By incorporating previous QA pairs into the generation of each new sub-question, the system builds an evidence chain without the complexity of full graph-based retrieval.
