B-EUR Model Formalizes Design Value via Uncertainty Reduction

The Bayesian Expected Uncertainty Reduction (B-EUR) model quantifies the value of design actions by measuring expected epistemic uncertainty reduction. Simulations show that epistemic value follows an inverted-U relationship with knowledge generalizability and increases with outcome discriminability.
