Execution-Feedback Refinement is the Only Universal Benefit for Text-to-SQL

An analysis of 17 ICL text-to-SQL configurations across four backbones shows that most design modules provide inconsistent marginal accuracy gains. Execution-feedback refinement was the only module found to provide a universal benefit regardless of the underlying model's capability or reasoning style.
