Co-Improvement and Alignment in Autoresearch Agents

This study explores the synergy between human researchers and autonomous agents, finding that humans remain critical during the ideation phase. It introduces HackBench, a benchmark demonstrating that current autoresearch agents struggle with hack localization and alignment with human research expectations.
