Native-Reference Geometry for Pronunciation Assessment via Self-Supervised Speech

A new coordinate geometry method evaluates L2 pronunciation by measuring the distance of L2 phone-class averages from a native-speech reference subspace. The approach shows up to -0.5 Spearman correlation with speaking proficiency without requiring parallel speech recordings.
