A Hybrid AI Framework for Academic Advising: Integrating Ensemble-Based Grade Prediction and a Rule-Based Expert System

A hybrid framework predicts student grades by applying a Stacking Ensemble of Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and MLP to clusters identified via Gaussian Mixture Models. Using 416,558 records, the model achieved an aggregated RMSE of 2.35. A rule-based expert system then integrates these predictions with institutional regulations to generate academic recommendations.
