VITA Clinical RAG Outperforms Frontier LLMs on HealthBench in LMIC Contexts

The VITA RAG system, optimized for low- and middle-income settings, outperformed general-purpose frontier LLMs on 4,023 HealthBench questions. It achieves high performance by retrieving from specialized corpora including national formulary constraints and resource-limited care protocols.
