Farmer donates land for a park, city sells it for $10M as data center land

A 1999 deed transferring 87 acres in Taylor, Texas to a public trust explicitly conditioned use on community parkland, but a chain of transfers ending with the Taylor Economic Development Corporation resulted in a $10M sale to data center developer Blueprint in 2025. Residents challenging the deed violation have lost initial legal battles and are appealing. The planned facility is 135,000 square feet.
