A Trillion Characters

Trillion Characters is a real-time collaborative infinite canvas where users type characters stored in 45x45 LMDB chunks, compressed with LZ4 and indexed via Morton-coded Z-order curves. The entire app runs on an 11kB Datastar framework that pushes server-rendered HTML over SSE with Brotli compression achieving 50–4000x ratios, eliminating client-side state entirely. It runs on a €5.52/month VPS with full ACID guarantees on every character write.
