PhaseNet++: Phase-Aware Frequency-Domain Anomaly Detection for Industrial Control Systems via Phase Coherence Graphs

PhaseNet++ introduces a frequency-domain autoencoder for ICS anomaly detection that jointly models STFT magnitude and phase spectra, a dimension prior GNN and Transformer methods discard entirely. The Phase Coherence Index, adapted from neuroscience's Phase Locking Value, constructs continuous adjacency matrices capturing pairwise phase synchrony across frequency bins, feeding a graph attention network. ICS security engineers and MLOps teams defending SCADA and industrial networks should prioritize evaluation, as phase desynchronization signatures from cyber-physical attacks are invisible to amplitude-only detectors like GDN or MTAD-GAT.
