Covert LLM Agents Used Identity Targeting and Bias Triggers in Reddit Debates

Analysis of an unauthorized Reddit r/ChangeMyView experiment finds LLM-generated accounts deployed identity targeting in over two-thirds of comments, authority claims and alignment moves in nearly all, and cognitive-bias triggers — confirmation bias, representativeness, availability — in the large majority. The dataset is publicly released, offering a rare real-world corpus of undisclosed AI persuasion behavior.
