FOXGLOVE Dataset: LLM Writing Feedback More Complex but Less Anchored Than Instructors

FOXGLOVE provides 2,340 feedback comments — 696 from trained instructors and 1,644 from four frontier LLMs — on 69 twelfth-grade essays. LLMs distribute feedback across goals similarly to instructors but anchor to different specific sentences and write more complex, less question-based feedback.
