Agent Memory Benchmarked as a Data System, Not a Black Box

Current agent memory evaluations rely on end-to-end metrics like F1 and BLEU, masking system-level costs and architectural trade-offs. This paper decomposes agent memory into four modules — representation/storage, extraction, retrieval/routing, and lifecycle governance — and proposes a data-management evaluation framework. Operational cost and robustness under dynamic knowledge updates are explicitly measured.
