Anthropic takes SpaceX's Colossus 1 for 220,000 GPUs

Anthropic secured access to SpaceX's Colossus 1 cluster, comprising 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs and 300+ MW of power, to scale Claude Code rate limits 2x and API throughput up to 16x. This repurposed infrastructure, vacated after SpaceX migrated training to Colossus 2, represents one of the largest single compute acquisitions in recent memory. API-dependent teams and high-volume Claude Code users should expect immediate capacity relief.
